DISORDERS OF SWALLOWING (DYSPHASIA)

 

Designation of program:

Children whose some part of orofacial locomotion doesn’t work properly during intake of liquid or solid food; sucking and chewing reflexes last at the time when child should eat solid food; child cannot chew or chews improperly; while drinking liquid flows out from a mouth; child salivates expressively.

 

Means of program:

Massages of orofacial muscles, training of particular phases of liquid and solid food intake, degradation of lasting reflexes, desensibilization, increase of sensibility in orofacial area, stimulation in oral cavity, using special expedients for swallowing disorders.

 

The goal of program:

Improvement of tension, lip-to-lip closure and rounding of lips; better orientation of tongue in mouth, activation of swallowing, correction of jaw and chewing muscles function, stretching and strengthening of inner face walls, normalization of muscular tension, decrease of excessive chocking reflex, improvement of sensibility in a mouth, correction and stimulation of breathing and support of pre-speech abilities.

DISORDERS OF SPEECH FLUENCY

Designation of program:

Children with stammer that suffer from disruption of coordination of organs participating on speaking that acts as interruption of speech process. Children with cluttering that is characterized by extremely fastened tempo of speech, swallowing of syllables and parts of words, breathing rhythm is disrupted.

 

 

DISORDERS OF SPEECH DEVELOPMENT

Designation of program:

Children with development aphasia when is the development of speech delayed, child speaks with improper grammar, corrupts words, has its own vocabulary, cannot inflect words, conjugate, uses improper word order, has problems with analysis of sounds.

 

 

DISORDERS OF ARTICULATION, PRONUNCIATION

Designation of program:

Children with dyslalia, that is with improper creation of syllables.

 

Means of program:

Breathing and voice exercises, evoking the soft voice begins, myofunction exercises to eliminate synkinesis of articulation apparatus, training of speech promptness, hearing differentiation – words that sound the same a differently, melodization, development of memory and attention, development of locomotion of vocal organs combined with pictures, development of active vocabulary.

 

The goal of program:

Improvement of speech demonstration, of active vocabulary, use of soft voice begin, proper breathing coordination while speaking, perception of rhythm and melody, improvement of hearing differentiation.

DISORDERS OF OROFACIAL AREA

Designation of program:

Children with improper function of lips, with muscular problems of tongue, with problems with jaw, with deficiency function of soft mouth floor, with myofunction disorders caused by disrupted denture (opened occlusion, undershot)

 

 

DISORDERS OF SPEECH RESONANCE

Designation of program:

Children to whom leaks air through the nose while speaking. Children that have sounds of speech interrupted by cleft or the articulation base has been shifted backwards (their speech is quiet without obvious sibilance and explosive syllables)

 

 

DISORDERS OF DIFFERENT SPEECH DEVELOPMENT

Designation of program:

Delayed, limited, disrupted development of speech. Child makes few sounds and syllables only and uses occasional words even though its understanding of speech is adequate.

 

Means of program:

Stimulation of facial muscles, lips, tongue, soft mouth floor, mimicry muscles; massages; tapping; active myofunction exercises to evoke proper position of articulation organs while speaking; using special expedients for myofunction therapy; breathing exercises; drawing of speech sounds according to the onomatopoeic vocabulary.

 

The goal of program:

Improvement of locomotion of orofacial area, fixation of proper positions and functions of particular muscles, improvement of breathing coordination, development of active vocabulary by training meaningful syllables and simple words by multiple repetition; linking of proper breathing, function of articulation apparatus and understanding during speech demonstration.

 

Speech therapy program "ALTERNATIVE"


ALTERNATIVE AND AUGMENTATIVE COMMUNICATION

Designation of program:

Children who are partially or completely denied to communicate verbally because their body, sense or mental handicap enables them to do so. Precondition is understanding of speech at least at level of 1,3 of age.

 

Means of program:

3D expedients replacing pictures, photos, symbols, pictograms, sign language, using the eye sight, common gestures, working with communication charts

 

The goal of program:

To allow children to react to stimulus, to discover the world around, to express their thoughts, wishes, to communicate with their surroundings.

 

 

SYMPTOMATIC DISORDERS OF SPEECH

Designation of program:

Children whose communication ability is disrupted and dominant handicap, disorder or disease is different from visual or auditory handicap

 

Means of program:

Auditory differentiation, rhythm, melody, development of speech, memory, attention and thinking

 

The goal of program:

Development of active and passive vocabulary considering the dominant handicap.

 

 

SPECIFIC DISORDERS OF LEARNING AND BEHAVIOR

Designation of program:

Children that have problem with attenuation of their activity, they still have inner restlessness inside that interrupts their attention. Program is suitable for children with hyperactivity and communication problems.

 

Means of program:

Structured education, development of active and passive vocabulary

 

The goal of program:

Thanks to means of strict order, lay-out of environment, time and particular activities children should be led to train independence, to develop their speech, to train proper working habits and that way minimize their problems with behavior.
